What this Means – The Stats – Let’s Talk

Spectrum participates in The Right Time birth control program! We offer every method of birth control for free to the uninsured and at low or no cost to those with insurance. We offer the following options:

• Oral Contraceptives (Birth Control Pills)
• The Shot (Depo Provera)
• The Implant (Nexplanon)
• IUDs (Mirena {hormonal}, Paragard {non-hormonal/copper})
• The Patch
• The Ring
• Phexxi

We also have Emergency Contraceptives (Plan B) available for free outside our clinic door Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5 pm, courtesy of the Missouri Family Health Council.

Led by the Missouri Family Health Council (MFHC), The Right Time is an initiative of Missouri Foundation for Health. The Right Time is a six-year initiative that is based on the simple belief that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue the future they want, including if, when, and under what circumstances to get pregnant; with a commitment to addressing the persistent health disparities in unintended pregnancy and among marginalized populations; and seeks to empower individuals to take control of their own health by improving information about, and removing barriers to, contraceptive services, recognizing that decisions always rest with the patient.

What This Means

Through this initiative, costs are reduced or free, access is increased, and information is readily available. We are focused on increasing equity and ensuring all people have access to quality family planning regardless of their insurance status or zip code. Our trained staff have the information you need to review your options and take control of your reproductive health.

The Stats

Currently, more than half (51%) of all pregnancies in Missouri are self described as unintended. Although there has been broad declines in unintended pregnancy, both nationally and in Missouri, large disparities remain. Low-income individuals, people of color, and those in rural areas have disproportionately high rates of unintended pregnancy.

Moreover, the effort to reduce unintended pregnancy and clear the way for people to achieve the goals they have set for themselves is responsive to the wishes of Missouri residents. More than four in five Missourians (81%) believe more should be done in their community to help teens and adults avoid unintended pregnancy. Support is wide and deep – 72% of Missouri residents support doing more to help people avoid unintended pregnancy, regardless of gender, age, income, education, race, or political affiliation.
