Prevention Outreach Coordinator
Laura joined the Spectrum team in August of 2021 as a The Right Time Educator (birth control program) and Prevention Outreach Coordinator. She also fills the roll as the Internship Coordinator and brings a specific understanding to this position as she was an intern for SHC prior to joining our staff.
Laura graduated from the University of Missouri in 2019 with her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with a minor in Spanish. She continued her education with her Master of Public Health in Policy and Health Promotion, along with a Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology.
For four years in the Department of Integrative Anatomy at the University of Missouri’s School of Medicine, Laura researched cranial skeletal and neurological development in adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and has presented her research at numerous conferences, including Experimental Biology for the American Association of Anatomists.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys trying out new dessert recipes and gardening on her balcony with her cat. One of Laura’s goals is to help normalize sexual health and create policy changes that ensures that all Missouri’s youth is receiving all-encompassing and inclusive sexual education.
