Dustin joined the Spectrum Health Care team as a Nurse Practitioner in 2020 to provide care to patients in the primary care setting. Dustin was a student nurse practitioner who completed 580 hours of clinical time at Spectrum Health Care while completing his Master of Science in Nursing degree.
Dustin graduated from Maryville University – St. Louis with a Master of Science in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner in Adult Gerontology. He is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Dustin also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri – Sinclair School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Columbia College.
Before joining the Spectrum Health Care team as one of their Nurse Practitioners, Dustin worked for 7 years as a bedside nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Missouri – Hospital and most recently directly in the Covid-19 unit. Prior to nursing, Dustin worked in banking holding different positions from teller to Account Service Representative.
In his spare time, Dustin enjoys completing home improvement projects, traveling, and spending as much time possible outdoors with his husband and son.
Dustin is inspired by the resilience of his son that was adopted in December 2020. Dustin believes that no question is a dumb question but that the only dumb question is the one not asked.
For Dustin, motivation is not found in the work he does but rather through inspiration, purpose, and dedication. Dustin is dedicated to providing the best, most prudent, and responsible care to his patients.
